Bolivia planned at least 35.000 CNG conversions in 2013

March 19, 2013. Bolivia's Government plans to convert minimally 35.000

vehicles to compressed natural gas (CNG) during 2013 by the Implementing

Entity for Natural Gas Conversion (EEC-GNV), according to the Deputy

Minister for Industrialisation, Trade, Transportation and Storage of

Hydrocarbons, Alvaro Arnez.

The official said that this year is expected to convert at least 35.000

vehicles, and even expect to exceed this amount. In this regard, it approved

the purchase of 30.000 cylinders and 25.000 CNG kits, with the aim of

boosting conversions and requalification program, which is very important for

this administration.

For the acquisition of these cylinders and kits will launch a national and

international bidding through the Implementing Entity for Conversion.

The authority invited people to submit their folders in the offices of the

EEC-GNV and benefit with free conversion to natural gas vehicles.

Arnez added that, besides boost vehicle conversion, they will work in more

CNG supply points and the requalification of cylinders, through technical

analysis, so they can ensure the safety of the owner.
